Are you aware of any conspiracy theories? I’m proud to say that I’ve started some of them. Have you recently been living by any life philosophy? Fear interviews. What is the worst thing about city life? Everything. Come move to the woods with me. What part of the planet would you like to explore? The inside of everyone’s houses. I’d also like to see the inside of a volcano. If you had to align yourself with a leader in history, who would it be? I’m not interested in anyone who would self-describe as a leader of anything. Pick a field of science to be an expert within. Mycology. I started a mushroom farm this past summer. What moment have you most wished you’d had a camera when you hadn’t? Recently I’m realizing that the opposite is more often true for me—there have been times that I wish I didn’t have my camera when I did. That said though, I once saw an older woman in her garden kicking all of her sunflowers as hard as she could. I do wish I had a camera for that. Choose a job you would be willing to do for free on the side. Musician. Describe the most important photo you’ve seen. I don’t really think about photography like that. How often do you take other people’s advice? Every second. Describe a personal hell. Having my heart broken while I forget how to read as I watch my childhood home burn down a few minutes after all my friends and family tell me that they’re suicidal as a spider crawls on my face and someone convinces me that god exists. On what occasion do you lie? I always lie unless I see a really good reason not to. What was the last crime you witnessed? My own. I do a lot of crimes, I’ve recently realized. What is the best way to educate yourself? By unlearning and risking everything. What is the next book you want to read? I just started Michelle Remembers which is the book that started the satanic panic in the US. I just finished Glitch Feminism by Legacy Russell which anyone who is interested in destroying binaries should read. Most used camera? My family’s Hi-8 camera that we used to record every Solstice fire. Are you satisfied with your level of physical strength? I shattered my collarbone a few months ago and it’s not healing great. Describe a cheap thrill. Mushroom foraging. Are impulses more important than consequences? Oof, uhhhhhhhh no? Which talent would you most like to have? I’d like to be better at identifying flowers. What is your plan for the next 24 hours? Plant garlic, harvest honey, find some puffballs, and start something that I’ll never finish.
