Have you recently been living by any life philosophy? Always Look forward, go ahead, be simple. What will baffle future generations about our day and age? Working for a fixed post for many years. Are you aware of any conspiracies? No, my life is quiet. What is it that interests you about photography? A camera is a good excuse to meet people. What is the worst thing about city life? People are really lonely in a big city. What part of the planet would you like to explore? Everywhere I’ve never been. What do you think is the most plausible of the supernatural? The sixth sense of a woman. Pick a field of science to be an expert within. Astrophysics. What moment have you most wished you’d had a camera when you hadn’t? I often feel that in the street, I meet with many amazing scenes but I don’t have a camera in my hand. Choose a job you would be willing to do for free on the side. Being a teacher in areas where the kids are very poor. How often do you take other people’s advice? I like to refer to people’s advice when I come across something I don’t know very well. Describe a personal hell. I always feel shameful when I think back to embarrassing moments. Watch videos on youtube, and then learn it by doing. Ultimate camera? I’m dreaming of a camera which can shoot digital and analog photos at the same time. Most used camera? Mamiya 645AFD & canon 5ds. What object do you want? The newest MacBook Pro. What object do you need? The newest MacBook Pro. How would you explain the internet to someone from the 1950’s? It’s an updating of the telegraph. Alex Huanfa Cheng is a photographer & artist based in Paris. He has a master in fine arts from L’école Nationale Superieure de beaux-arts de Paris (2013-2017), and a bachelor degree in Digital Media Technology from the Communication University of China, Beijing.

He was awarded the Laureate of Bourse du talent in 2019, and has exhibited internationally including: Delirious City, The Aperture Summer Open 2019, collective exhibition in Aperture Foundation, New York City, the Le Bleu, collective exhibition , Galerie Anne-Claire Simon, Paris (2019), and the The frontier of intimacy, a solo exposition at Zanyi Gallery, Qing Dao, China.
