Bloom Publishing: Open

Thrilled to be a presenting partner for Bloom Publishings latest project ‘Open’, an interactive online photo salon inviting photographers to submit and vote on images that will make up the content of Bloom’s next publication, to be released at the New York Art Book Fair in September 2018. Submissions will be open May 16 – June 22.

By registering for an account, photographers can upload up to 3 images on their personal profile and to the gallery, from which you can view and favourite other photographer’s images. There is a sign up fee of $15 AUS per photographer — all proceeds will go towards the running costs of the platform and production of the book.

The gallery will showcase all submitted images on the platform throughout the entirety of the project. From June 25th – July 1st, the platform will be open to the general public to create a free account and register their favourite images. Photographers will be able to share their profiles to be accessed by anyone registered. All submitted images will be in the running to win one of four prizes, which we’ll announce on the site next week.

Dan Rule & Justine Ellis of Perimeter Books, along with The Heavy Collective’s Jack Harries will be judging for the best image on the platform.

There will be three more prize winners, chosen by you, awarded to the people’s favourite images. Bloom will choose upwards of 50 additional images to publish in the book. All published photographers will receive a copy of the book, whilst all participating photographers will receive a discount code to use, should they wish to purchase the book.
