Heavy Co-presents: Michael Mack & Dan Rule — In Conversation

In partnership with Perimeter Books, The Heavy Collective is thrilled to be co-presenting a talk with Michael Mack (founder of London-based art book publisher MACK) and Dan Rule (Co-Director, Perimeter), where they’ll be discussing MACK’s publishing outputs and philosophies in a Sydney exclusive event at Kinokuniya January 10th. Seats are limited and rsvp’s are essential, you can find your way into spot via the link below.

Originally established in 2004 under the imprint steidlMACK, MACK was founded by Michael Mack in 2010 as an independent publishing house and is considered to be one of the world’s leading producers of contemporary and historical photography books.

MACK publications are renowned for their tactile materiality, conceptual rigour and for a focus on the book as a work of art – the book form as a primary destination for the author’s ideas. While MACK is at the forefront of the boom in photobook publishing – the books having won a vast array of international awards and prizes – they are notable for an absence of the design excesses common in the sector.

“Each book is designed in the studio in London in collaboration with the author and with the belief that content should not be dominated by design.”

Join us for this rare in-conversation event with Michael Mack and Dan Rule, co-presented by Books Kinokuniya, Perimeter and The Heavy Collective, with drinks by local brewery, Young Henrys.

6.30pm arrivals for a 7.00pm start. RSVP in store, by phone: 02 9262 7996, email or via Eventbrite.
