Friday Fry Up: Alana Paterson

“There are few places so densely populated and yet boast such long, dark winters as Scandinavia. They pendulum from long mystical summers to long, dark, cold nights. They are masters of hibernation and anyone who has spent time there between November and March will tell you… maybe go in the summer. But in seeking to understand a people you must see where they come from and to see a Scandinavian in the summer is to see only half the picture…the sunnier half. Summer in the norther hemisphere would not explain why one is so thoughtful, serene, stoic. But a winter you will see where the tall blonde strong and silent Scandinavian comes from and you will like it”.
